NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY @ TSRS

Virtual Collaborative Project inspired by Round Square

National Science Day is celebrated on the 28th of February every year. It commemorates the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. Sir Raman received the Nobel Prize in 1930 for this discovery.

NSD is an annual event on our academic calendar and is celebrated with great fervour every year. This year we hosted our second consecutive virtual collaboration - India’s National Science Day 2022 for Round Square member schools. The esteemed keynote speaker was the first woman director in 105 years of the Zoological Survey of India, Dr. Dhriti Banerjee.

For the virtual collaboration, Forms IV and V of participating schools worked in small groups towards using the scientific method to find an answer to a unique question that arose from their observations.

Our intra-school activities included age-appropriate STEM explorations and experiments for forms Pravesh Vatika – Form III. a few guest speakers from diverse fields were invited to address the children as part of our celebrations.
